Tu Meri Zindagi Hai From Mahesh Bhatt's 1990 Aashiqui Is A Rip-Off Of Tassawar Khanum's 1975 Song? Fans Answer Affirmative
Netizens now believe that Tu Meri Zindagi Hai song from Aashiqui that released in 1990 is a copied version of Tassawar Khanum's 1975 song
Aashiqui starring Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal that released in 1990 was a massive hit. The film helmed by Mahesh Bhatt was loved by the audiences for its storyline, and the songs. The tracks of the movie were chartbusters especially the title track - Tu Meri Zindagi Hai. However, years after the film's release, netizens now believe that the song was a rip-off of a track by a Pakistani singer Tassawar Khanum which she reportedly recorded in 1975.
Tu Meri Zindagi Hai sung by Kumar Sanu and Anuradha Paudwal became a rage among the youngsters back then, and it became one of the top songs in the history of Bollywood. But going by the information shared by social media users, it seems that the track wasn't very original. Sharing the video of the Pakistani singer, a social media user wrote, "Immensely popular song of Aashiqui was a straight rip-off of the 1977 song by Tasawar Khannum."
Another social media user wrote, "This is not new. We are ripping World music since the first movie was made in India.Internet was not there and hence we didn't knew. Just Google RD Burman & Demis Roussos and you will know the reality."

This original song is much better than copied song of Ashiqui. Better lyrics , better voice, a different class.

Well, this is not the first time that Bollywood has been blamed for copying songs and scripts. Song Agar Tum Mil Jao from the movie Zeher is also said to be a copied version of a song sung by Tawasar Khanum which she recorded for 1974 release Imandar. Stay tuned to SpotboyE for more updates.
